Melanie Rockcliffe
Executive Chair of Global Entertainment
YMU Group
Melanie Rockcliffe is a seasoned talent agent with a remarkable career spanning some of the biggest names in comedy, acting, and entertainment. She began her journey at The Richard Stone Partnership, assisting the agents with top comedy clients, including David Jason, Jo Brand, Rory Bremner, and many stand-up comedians.
Whilst at Richard Stone, Melanie was headhunted by Talkback to lead their management division, where she represented comedy icons Mel and Griff and helped grow the agency into a powerhouse. During her time there, Talkback became synonymous with award-winning comedy and light entertainment shows such as The Ali G Show, Smack the Pony, The Day Today, I’m Alan Partridge, and Brass Eye. The agency also represented many of the writers and performers behind these groundbreaking series, as well as high-profile clients like Graham Norton, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Sara Cox, and Griff Rhys Jones, who Melanie represents to this day.
Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Melanie left Talkback and co-founded Troika, alongside two other agents. Together with her colleagues and a great team, Troika flourished into a leading talent agency, representing a roster of acclaimed and award-winning actors, presenters, comedians, and writers. Over 13 years, the agency’s reputation soared, ultimately attracting the attention of James Grant Group (now YMU), who made an offer Melanie and her partners couldn’t refuse.
Melanie now works closely with the directors and MD of YMU in the Global Entertainment division at YMU Group, in her role as Executive Chair, as well as managing the careers of Graham Norton, Sara Cox, Miranda Hart, Blindboy, Matt Lucas and Griff Rhys-Jones.
